Saturday February 27, 2010 at 1036 hours, Box 615 was alerted for the house fire at 45 Aspen Woods Drive bringing Chief 6 (Riffe), Chief 6A (Montgomery), Chief 6C (Morris), Engine 62 (Lt Grierson), Tanker 6 (Robison) and Ambulance 68 (EMS Lt Jordan). Engine 61 remains out of service in Roanoake, VA for rehab work and Squad 6 is out of service due to brake issues. Units from the Huntingtown VFD arrived on location initially with nothing evident. Once inside, light smoke conditions were found on the 2nd floor. The crew with a charged handline, found an exhaust fan in the bathroom on fire with extension into the attic. Engine 62 quickly knocked down all fire and began opening up the affected area. Within 5 minutes the box assignment was scaled back to Engine 62 and Dunkirk Squad 5. Units from the Huntingtown VFD operated until 1127 hours.
