First-Due House Fire for HVFD Volunteers

At 08:45 today, Huntingtown and other nearby stations were called to a basement fire in the 1100 block of Claggett Rd. Chief 5 (T. Sealey) was first to arrive, reporting visible flames from the basement. Shortly after, Chief 6 (M. Clark) took over command. The team from Engine 61 initiated an attack on the fire by pulling a hose to the basement side of the house and successfully suppressing the fire. Meanwhile, crews from Company 1 managed the first floor, and Company 2 supported the effort with an additional hose line to the basement, aiding the Huntingtown team. Engine 61, Engine 62, Squad 6, Tanker 6, and Brush 6 were all actively involved for about 2 hours. Ambulance 66 was present in a standby capacity, and the department’s auxiliary team provided snacks and coffee for the crews on site.
